Border Morris.
This is a great tradition, and comes from the Border region of England and Wales. Dancers dress up in Tatters Jackets, (made from strips of different coloured fabric sewn onto an under jacket). They usualy paint their faces in order to disguise themselves, and some wear hats with feathers and anything else that may suit.

The dancers use sticks, which are energetically clashed in a very lively fashion, with many an enthusiastic scream to liven the proceedings. There has been a big resurgance of this style of dance in recent years. It also appeals to all ages, and attracts many young dancers, who may have not been so keen to participate in other styles. I guess this is because youngsters really like dressing up and disguising themselves!
